Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
If
you have the questions,
we hope we have the
answers! If
you have any
questions
that
are not answered here,
please submit them to
us
(CONTACT page).
Q. What languages
do we translate?
A. We can
translate in any world languages.
For a list of the most
common
go
to LANGUAGES page or CONTACT
page with your requirement.
Q. What
is the average turnaround
time for translations?
A. In most
cases we can honor our
usual turnaround time
of 3-5 business days.
Depending
on the size of your
project, the language(s)
requested and the
subject matter,
we will work with you
to establish a reasonable
deadline
that
meets your needs and
enables us to deliver the
highest quality
translation.
Q. How do we
price translations?
A. Text-to-text
translations are priced
per word. If the document
you want to
translate is in
an electronic format,
we can usually give
you an exact price
by
counting the
words electronically.
We count the words
in the original, or
source, language and
multiply that by a
price per source word.
Thus, you
will know
the total cost of
your
translation before
you agree to start
working
with us. If
your document is hardcopy
only or a scan that
does not enable
the
words to be counted
electronically, we
will
quote translation
work based
on the
number of words in
the target language.
In
these cases, we
can only
provide an
estimate of the word
count: the final price
will depend
on how
many words the
translation contains.
Q. How
do we get translations
back to you?
A. Transfer
methods: Most
of our translations are
sent by email nowadays
but we can fax, post,
or courier documents
if you prefer.
Transfer
formats: We
can handle translations
in most standard
wordprocessing,
desktop publishing and
presentation formats.
We
can also lay out
your copy for you if
required.
Supported formats
include: MS
WordMS, Excel, PDF
Q. How
do we ensure confidentiality?
A. Strict
confidence: Because
many of our translations
involve sensitive legal
and financial documents
we treat all translations
in confidence as a matter
of course.
Whether just
for a quote or as part
of a job, any documents
we receive and
translations of documents — are
safely kept and, if
required, destroyed.
Confidentiality
agreements: We
have a standard confidentiality
agreement
which we sign
on request. We are also
happy to sign confidentiality
agreements
you propose.
Q. How
do we ensure accurate
interpreting and translations?
A. Trusted
interpreters ans translators: We
have been around for
over 40 years
so
we can call
on a large network
of experienced interpreters
and translators,
who are experts
in their language and
their field. Interpreters
and translators
that
we have used many times
before so we know that
they
can be relied on.
Our
database of interpreters
and translators is our most
valued asset.
In-house
verification: Every
translation is thoroughly
checked
by our own
linguists.
If changes need to made,
the translation
is always checked again.
Some translations will
be edited several times
before being returned
to to you.
External
verification: Translations
can be checked over
by
a second translator.
This service is standard
for large translations.
Certification
of accuracy: If
a guarantee of accuracy
is paramount,
Worldwide
Interpreters,
Inc.
can certify
documents free of
charge. On request,
we can arrange
for your
documents to be
notarised or legalised
as well.
